My Record on Affordable Housing

I have a record of bold accomplishments on affordable housing. Including, but not limited to, playing an integral role in securing the funding and neighborhood support for the affordable housing development, St. John's Place, which serves some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

I continue to advocate for expanding access to affordable housing. Learn more about the affordable housing strides we, as a Council, made to address this pressing city-wide issue in 2018 as it relates to the $50 million bond referendum.

Prior to accepting a seat on Charlotte City Council District 5, I was proud to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the Charlotte Housing Authority (CHA) from 2015 to 2017. In my capacity I served 25,000 individuals in Charlotte, providing housing and supportive services. I take pride that our residents' self-sufficiency graduation rate is almost double the national average.
